FURKIDS DOG OF THE WEEK: Shelly

She’s almost four years old (perfectly out of that puppy phase) and a ball of energy and joy. She likes other dogs but absolutely loves activity. She walks great on a leash and would be the perfect buddy to take on hikes or active weekend adventures.

FURKIDS CAT OF THE WEEK: Franklin & Laguna

This adorable pair certainly makes for a winning hand. And what a deal! Eight-year-old Franklin (Mr. Affectionate) and quiet, reserved Laguna, (a mere two-years-old) are totally attached to each other. They love cuddling and playfully batting at each other. Not much left for the adopter to do except sit back and watch the show.

Furkids, headquartered in Atlanta, GA, is a 501c3 nonprofit charitable organization that operates the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the Southeast for rescued cats and Sadie’s Place, a no-kill shelter for rescued dogs.

Each year, Furkids rescues more than 5,000 homeless and abandoned animals providing them with the best medical care and nurturing environment while working to find them a forever home. More than 850 animals are in the Furkids program today, in the Furkids shelters, 8 PetSmart and Petco adoption centers, and over 600 foster homes in the Atlanta area. Furkids also operates five thrift stores, which fund approximately 35% of their lifesaving work.
