VIDEO: Before Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ed King with Strawberry Alarm Clock

Ed King, a former guitarist for Lynyrd Skynyrd who helped write several of the group's hits including "Sweet Home Alabama," has died in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 68.

Before his Lynyrd Skynyrd days, a 17-year-old King co-founded and played lead guitar with the Strawberry Alarm Clock.

They had a 1967 Classic hit with “Incense and Peppermints.” Here’s their performance video with Ed on the riser on the left:
