ATLANTA — A popular Atlanta-based pizza chain is closing hundreds of stores.

Company officials say Papa Johns Pizza is set to close around 300 stores by 2027.

Most of the stores will close this year.

The company is also cutting about 7% of its corporate staff, as well and simplifying the menu to boost profits amid slowing sales and tough competition.
