FULTON COUNTY, GA — A new pilot program officially launches Thursday to teach Fulton County residents and employees how to responsibly use artificial intelligence in their everyday lives and careers.
Develop Fulton is offering the free training to at least 500 people, including small business owners and people going through career changes.
The program offers different levels of artificial intelligence education, from basic skills to using the technology in areas such as finance and marketing. Participants can also work toward certificates through the program.
Develop Fulton Board Chairman Kwanza Hall said learning how to use artificial intelligence can help people keep up as technology continues to change.
“The same way that we had phones that were the size of a brick and now they’re on your watch. We are moving at a rapid pace,” Hall said.
Hall said the program is designed to help people learn how to use the technology responsibly instead of fearing it.
“This is the moment to either seize the leadership opportunity or be left in the past,” Hall said.
Hall also recognized the importance of major technology companies working together to self-police the development of artificial intelligence.
“You can use these tools to change your life and change the lives of people around you,” Hall said.
Develop Fulton will collect data throughout the pilot program, including information on who participates and their progress through the certificates.
The program runs through April 2027. Its findings will be part of the annual Atlanta AI Week conference.
