Join 97.1 the River at the Dunwoody Music Festival October 22 & 23
In its third year, the Dunwoody Music Festival opens this fall with a ton of really cool new features that will entice attendees of all ages. Taking place in Brook Run Park, North Peachtree Rd., on October 22 and 23, the music festival features multiple stages, an enlarged children’s area, and an expanded vendors market. New for 2011 aspects like the Young Adult Zone and 80s Rock Concert will kick this community festival into high gear!

Saturday night, the Stars of the 80s Rock Concert brings back memories with performances by members from .38 Special, Starship, Survivor and Ides of March along with musicians who have played with Billy Joel, Sheryl Crow, Don Henley and Sarah McLachlan.
This special homage to the 80s features:
- Liberty DeVitto, drummer for Billy Joel for more than 30 years, he's also played with Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Stevie Nicks and Elton John.
- Jim Peterik, writer or co-writer of such favorites as "Eye of the Tiger" and "Hold On Loosely."
- Jeff Carlisi, founding member of .38 Special and member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame house band.
- Jeff Adams, renowned bassist who has played with Starship, Survivor, Alex Ligertwood and Mike Reno to name just a few.
- Peter Stroud, guitarist for Sheryl Crow, Don Helney and Sarah McLachlan.
- And Jimmy Hall, who has shared the stage with greats like The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Grand Funk Railroad.

- Festival General Admission is just $5 (half of last year's price!) for ages 10 and up
- 80s Rock Concert Tickets $14.95 per person, or Reserved Chastain-style Table Seating $24.95 per person (includes Saturday admission)
Features:
- Attendees will enjoy a large Children's Are with free and paid activities; a diverse vendors market with arts, crafts and collectibles;; a train running through the park and two days of fantastic live music!
- Teens and tweens will love the Young Adult Zone, an area for young attendees who have moved beyond the spider jump and sand art. The Young Adult Zone includes a breakdance competition and the popular, Battle of the Bands.
