U2 has been selected as MusiCares’ 2027 Persons of the Year. Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. will be honored at the 36th annual benefit gala on February 5th, 2027, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The recognition coincides with U2’s 50th anniversary as a band. The group has earned 22 Grammy Awards and sold over 170 million albums worldwide. Each member has individually championed humanitarian causes, including fighting AIDS, poverty, addiction awareness, and music education. A tribute concert featuring performances celebrating U2’s music and activism will also take place during the ceremony.
