Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen’s custom 2004 Hamer Five-Neck Korina guitar sold for $313,600 at Julien’s Auctions on October 24, held at Nashville’s Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum. The one-of-a-kind instrument had never before been publicly offered. A stage-played 1975 Hamer Standard fetched $256,000, while Nielsen’s 1984 Gibson Les Paul brought $25,600. Beyond guitars, a black overcoat famously urinated on by Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx — as recounted in the band’s autobiography “The Dirt” — sold for $5,760, nearly ten times its estimate. All 90 clothing lots sold above presale estimates. “I’m thrilled to see friends, fans and collectors give these pieces of my history a new life,” Nielsen said, noting proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
