Queen guitarist Brian May says the iconic rock band will no longer tour. In an interview with The Times, the 79-year-old said he made the decision 18 months ago after a close family friend died during a US tour. He was told he couldn’t leave the tour, even briefly. “I made a decision 18 months ago that I didn’t want to tour again,” May said. “I love to play, I love to travel, but the trade-off is sacrificing your freedom.” Queen + Adam Lambert last performed together in Tokyo in February 2024. May and drummer Roger Taylor are exploring an immersive concert experience inspired by Las Vegas’ Sphere, though May cited concerns about required AI use. “I think an immersive experience is still on the cards,” he said.
