The Statesboro Police Department shared the video with a news release and said the car’s driver, identified as Landun Brock, was facing a list of charges including DUI, reckless driving, possession of marijuana, and driving without a valid license.

Police said that one of its officers on patrol saw Brock speeding at 2 a.m. on Saturday and began to pursue him, but by the time the officer was able to get behind his vehicle, Brock had already crashed into a wall.

The car burst into flames after hitting the dorm at Centennial Place, WJCL reported.

The video shared by police with the news release shows students on campus immediately running toward the vehicle and helping to pull the driver to safety. Police said the driver was successfully pulled from the car and treated for “very minor injuries.” No other injuries were reported.

The university evacuated 134 people from the building overnight, and allowed most back into the dorms the next day, WTOC reported. A total of 40 students are being relocated during repairs to the building.

Police said they are continuing to investigate whether Brock had the car legally at the time of the crash.
