Daniel M. Rizza, 20, called Pennsylvania state police around 5 p.m. after he ran out of gas in a grey Audi SUV, the Altoona Mirror reported. When he was told a trooper would respond, he said he didn’t want an officer to show up and hung up, WTAJ reported.

The SUV was parked on state game land with its hazard lights on when a Pennsylvania State game warden arrived, investigators said. State police arrived shortly after as Rizza was talking to the game warden.

State police ran the vehicle’s information and found out it had been reported stolen in Altoona earlier in the day. Investigators said Rizza waived his Miranda rights and told them he stole the vehicle, the Mirror reported.

Rizza was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, police said. He is in jail on $35,000 bail.
