The alleged assault happened Saturday when the manager of Bowl America asked several customers to leave because they had refused to wear face masks as required at the business, The Capital Gazette reported.

Police said the request turned into an argument. The manager asked the group to leave and they refused until the manager called the police. He then followed the group outside of the bowling alley where police said several members of the group assaulted the manager, punching and kicking him, as well as an employee who tried to break up the incident, WBAL reported.

The manager was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries, WJZ reported.
