National news was abuzz last night that Oprah had finished her much-publicized- already interview with Lance Armstrong that will air on her OWN network Thursday night. Are you planning to watch? Curiosity will probably have me tuning in, but I couldn’t care less about Lance anymore. I have a real problem with leaders in our society that get all big and puffy and point their fingers in our face while they lie under oath, then back down and squirm away when they’re hit with the truth. I believe Americans are a very forgiving people. If you %$^# up, and apologize for it, you’re probably going to be forgiven. But more and more often I’m seeing people who have basked in the limelight from their good deeds, all the while obviously thinking they’re above all of us. I believe Lance is great example of what is sullying this country from within. And the excuse that “everyone was doing it, so it was an even playing field” is even more disturbing to me. Where have all the heroes gone? I believe they are everywhere! They’re your next door neighbor, your co-worker, your husband or wife, mom or dad, son and daughter, maybe even Oprah for you – people who work hard with honestly and integrity, and who set great examples for others. Lance deserves to fade away.
