Oh my!  What a fabulous evening last night for the opening of the musical "Memphis" at The Fox Theatre.  The audience was bowled over by amazing performances that left us all feeling exhiliarated!  The music and lyrics are by Bon Jovi keyboardist and founding member David Bryon, and that alone will blow you away.  The songs are memorable, beautiful, rockin', soulful -- just exquisite!  And the performances are top-notch.  The soloists sing to perfection, and the chorus is phenominal -- I couldn't believe the wall of sound coming out of them.  What makes this show even more special is that, beyond my accolades about the music, the dancing is fantastic and the story is very entertaining.  "Memphis" deals sensitively, yet boldly, with racism in the '50s, and with how black music helped bridge a gap between young people.  It is a show you don't want to miss its first time  in Atlanta.  Get your tickets now for performances running through this Sunday, February 5th -- go to http://foxtheatre.org/showschedules.aspx
