Over 14,000 Pets Have Found New homes, NOW Atlanta Pet Resuce & Adoption Gets Their Own

By Kaedy Kiely

I'm very excited that my friends at Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption are moving into a bigger facility that will help them create a healthier environment for rescued cats and dogs while the pets wait for their new "forever homes."  The 15,000 square-foot building will house expanded dog kennels, 9 bonding rooms, indoor and outdoor runs, and a dog play area in the big backyard.  Cats and kittens will have their own area, and private rooms for selective kitties.  Plans for  additional renovations include a 1,000 square-foot training room, a rehab center, and an in-house low cost spay/neuter vet clinic.  APR&A's new home will also provide a training venue for their outreach programs.

APR&A will close their doors at the 14th Street location at the end of the business day this Saturday, and will re-open at their new location at 4874 South Atlanta Rd. in Smyrna at 11 am on Thursday, May 3rd..  Of course, they will always have a home here on our website, so please supprt this wonderful non-profit, volunteer-based, NO KILL shelter however you can.  Donations are always appreciated, and if you're thinking of adopting a precious four-legged family member please think of them.  We feature a different dog and cat every week at www.971theriver.com.
