To Censor Our Music or Not?

This is one that comes up for me several times a week, and I'd love to know what you think.  I was playing "Money For Nothing" this morning when a listener called to express his displeasure that we had chosen to censor the lyrics -- the "little ______with the earring and the make-up" line.  Now, this is an intelligent-sounding, polite guy who couldn't believe we'd mess with Dire Straits.  Believe me when I say I've heard profanity-laced messages from angry listeners on BOTH sides of the argument.  Personally, I'd rather not play a song than hear it edited (as I call it.)  I understand why our company censors certain songs we play, but I think it would be better not to play songs with objectional lyrics at all.  I believe music is art and don't think it should be messed with unless the artist releases an edited version.  What do you think?
