What's Your Favorite Way To Celebrate The 4th?

By Kaedy Kiely

My most memorable fireworks watching year in the ATL was from the roof of the 16-story big, black, triangle building at Century Center where the 96Rock studios were for many years.  A bunch of us from work stood, mesmerized by having a 360 degree view of metro Atlanta.  We could see the fireworks happening anywhere for miles around Atlanta -- Stone Mountain, Lenox Square, Centennial Park, and lots more smaller displays.  It was surreal watching from so high up where it was intensely quiet except for those distant sounds of the firewoks.  When kids from my family are visiting on the 4th, we'll always choose the laser fireworks show at Stone Mountain.  It's a great thing to bring a blanket and your picnic basket, and stretch out on the beautiful expanse of grass to watch the fantastic laser show against the side of our precious mountain.  My typical favorite thing to do to watch the fireworks, though , is to time it out where we catch an early evening movie at Phipps Plaza, and get out in time to watch the Lenox Square fireworks from across the street.  I don't get stuck in traffic on my way there, and it's a great show!  What's your favorite 4th celebration?
