I love the awards season on TV.  The Golden Globes has always been one of my favorites because it seems looser (or the stars do, anyway) than most. This past Sunday's Globes was an exception to a generally festive and entertaining show, thanks mostly to host Ricky Gervais.  I usually enjoy his irreverant humor, but I didn't find his schtick funny this time.  His mean-spiritedness seemed to cast a pall over the show.  You may disagree but if you didn't see it and are curious, check out the re-broadcast tonight (Tues.) at 6pm on Bravo.

I was happy to see that two of my favorites, The Social Network and Glee, were big winners. The show did make me curious about some of the movies I haven't seen yet, so I watched The Fighter yesterday (Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale.)  LOVED it!  The performances are just terrific and the story is a good one.  The soundtrack's a good one too -- lots of great rock 'n roll!
