Welcome Home Party for Corporal Todd Love

By Kaedy Kiely

You're invited to a very special event this Saturday in Dallas, GA.  It's a Happy 21st Birthday and Welcome Home party for injured U.S. Recon Marine, Corporal Todd Love.  You may have seen Todd in an incredibly moving news story on Fox 5.  He arrived home in Acworth from a Maryland hospital a couple of weeks ago, and now Georgia has a chance to honor another hometown hero! Here is some of Todd's story:

On October 25, 2010 Cpl. Todd Love, while on foot patrol being point man stepped on a IED.  Both legs were severed, & his left arm was injured as well.  He has been back in the states since October 29th, First @ Bethesda Naval Medical Center, then on to Walter Reed.  He is now @ the Mologne House in D.C. doing lots of therapy. The amazing part is that he is walking somewhat in only 4 months; yes he still has a long way to go.  They give him longer legs as he progresses, as he must be able to maintain balance.  Of course due to the severity of his injuries, the legs will really be for special occasions.  He lost his legs up to his hip, as well as his left arm below the elbow.  But thru all this, that young man is upbeat & positive; he is an encouraging role model as to what can be achieved once you set your mind to it.  He wants to dance again; he knows that really a slow dance is all that could be done.
