Prayers Needed

By Kaedy Kiely

Last week I visited a new dermatologist recommended by my cancer surgeon, and I like this new doc a lot.  Her nurse was a high school classmate of mine, so that made the visit a bit more festive since we reminisced about people we both knew.  I showed the doc a tiny dark freckle that hadn't been on my leg before (same leg I have just had the knee surgery on) and she said she was going to remove it to do a biopsy on it -- it looked like it was nothing, but since it was new she wanted to be sure.  So a few days after I got my knee stitches out, I have a couple more in the same leg.  I got the good news while I was in physical therapy for the repaired meniscus -- the spot is benign!

I am praying hard for good news for one of my dearest friends' daughter.  Diane and I were joined at the hip in high school along with another best friend, Judy.  Diane's college-aged daughter recently noticed a spot on her chest that didn't look right.  Thank Goodness they got a couple of opinions because a biopsy came back with a small amount of it cancerous.  The surgery is today -- the surgeon will remove lymph nodes from underneath both arms, since the spot is on the center of her chest.  I plan to go sit with Diane today while she waits.  All I can ask right now is that you please send a prayer for this dear family.  I'll let you know how it goes...
