Everybody Can Be A Mother (Or Dad) This Weekend

By Kaedy Kiely

There's some BIG FUN for you and the kids to help celebrate Mother's Day weekend this Saturday if you feel like making a little trek up to gorgeous North Georgia.  I'm bringing friends, my mom, and one of my favorite little ones, 4 year old Emmie Grace, to lovely Cleveland, Georgia for the Grand Opening celebration of the new Babyland General Hospital!  You may know that BGH is the home of the Cabbage Patch dolls, and folks have been very excited about this celebration that has been years in the making.  There's a full day of special events planned from 9a - 4:30p. I'll be there around 11am for a couple of hours. There'll be rides for the kids and all kinds of entertainment, prize drawings, and goodies. To find out more, go to www.cabbagepatchkids.com.

Xavier Roberts, the father of the Cabbage Patch Kids, will be there signing the one-of-a-kind soft-sculpture dolls including the one named for me, "Little Kaedy Kiely," who was made exclusively for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life in White County.  I will go through the "official adoption process" with her this Saturday, then she'll go home with the lucky person whose raffle ticket is drawn next Friday the 14th at The Relay (you do not have to be present to win!)  That reminds me to remind you that you only have a few more days to purchase your raffle ticket to win my doll!!  If you've already sent in your donation for the $5 raffle tickets, thank you very much -- it's going to such a wonderful cause in the Relay For Life.  If you haven't, would you please consider even purchasing one $5 ticket?  It's very simple to do online ($10 mininum donation with credit card) -- just click here , then click "donate to our team" on the site.  If you'd prefer to mail a check or money order, make it payable to The American Cancer Society and mail it to: Joyce Henderson/ACS, Babyland General Hospital, P.O. Box 1438, Cleveland, GA 30528. If you have any questions, e-mail hjl@windstream.net with a subject line that says 2010 American Cancer Society.  Your donation is appreciated more than you know, and you may even win a very cool doll!
