The booster seats were out in full force at The Fabulous Fox Friday night!  So refreshing to see people of all ages dressed up to go to the theater -- little girls in their springtime best with big ribbons in their hair, little boys in suits -- all excited to see the magical Mary Poppins.  And it was hard to tell who enjoyed the show more -- adults who were reliving their childhood love for the original "Super Nanny," or the kids!  The show is as fabulous as its venue -- if you're a fan of musicals, you must see this one!  Of course, the music is quite memorable and you expect the show-stopping numbers to be "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" and "Step in Time" with the great rooftop dancing of the Chimney Sweeps, and they were.  But there were many more wonderful musical moments including one of my favorites, the achingly pretty "Feed the Birds." The costumes are beautiful and brilliantly colored, the sets are clever, and there are lots of magical moments where you wonder how they did that.  The cast and orchestra are simply top-notch!   And if you're thinking, "Kids at the theater?  No thanks!," don't worry.  The children in the audience were spellbound.  Mary Poppins is playing through May 16th.

My friend Renee and I had the fun experience of being invited to the aftershow cast party across from The Fox at The Georgian Terrace.  All the guys in the orchestra (a relatively small group with a perfectly big sound) joined us at a table and we had a delightful time learning more about what they do and trying to pry the "how did they do that?" secrets of the show out of them.  For the record, they didn't tell us!  So a big southern welcome to the boys in the band --  Chip, Mark, Justin, D, William and James -- we enjoyed meeting you and hope you enjoy your stay!
