Don't Miss Neil Young At The Fox!

By Kaedy Kiely

I was so excited to hear about Neil Young at The Fox!  It's Saturday, May 29th and tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster starting this Saturday morning at 10.  I was then bummed to realize I won't be here to see it -- I'll be on vacation Memorial Day weekend.  I don't have to encourage you to see him if you're a serious fan, but if you are curious about his live shows I wanted to tell you that they are among the best and unusual I've ever seen.  I've had the honor of welcoming the crowd and introducing him several times over the years.  I was actually even part of his show on live video interviewing folks from backstage in the late '80s.  I absolutely experienced magic seeing him in L.A. at the Greek Theater in the summer of 2003 performing "Greendale."  Even though the Greendale CD isn't really "radio friendly" and I wasn't familiar with the new (at the time) music, it was one of the most exciting performances I've ever seen -- his connection to the audience was palpable.  I've seen him with CSN and solo, and I've never been disappointed.  If you've got an open mind and heart for his new stuff, you won't be disappointed either.  Here's the press release with the description of this special show coming to The Fox:

Rock icon Neil Young will perform his first Southeast concerts in nearly a decade on the Twisted Road tour, scheduled for late May and early June.  As an even rarer treat for fans, Young will play solo acoustic in several of the region's classic theaters, offering those fortunate enough to be in attendance a program of his classic songs along with the special privilege of hearing new songs for the first time.  British folk legend Bert Jansch will open the shows.

Young performs at the Louisville Palace Theatre on May 26, Atlanta's Fox Theatre on May 29, the Spartanburg (S.C.) Memorial Auditorium on May 30, and Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on June 1.

Tickets go on sale this Saturday, March 27, at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster outlets.  Complete information about the Twisted Road tour's Southern dates is available at concertwire.com.
