Me and My TiVo

Previous Posts

OMG, I can't tell you how happy I am to be back at work!  I was really down for the count last week.  I rarely get knocked out by a cold but this one turned into something nasty.  As one of my friends put it, "you sounded so bad, it was obvious something inside you needed to be killed." Because it hurt so bad to swallow, my doc's diagnosis over the phone was strep throat so I got the penicillin and that definitely killed the fever and throat pain.  But my own diagnosis via Google (I know, slap me!) is that it wasn't strep because that usually does not have all the other cold symptoms that I had.  I'm still congested, but am so much better and am seeing my radiation doc, Dr. Wobeck, this morning for my 6 month check-up so I will make sure nothing is too out of whack. I'm sure she'll be happy to radiate me if it is!   And thanks to my River Chatty Hoochie sister Deb Reece for filling in for me.  I know how tough it is when that alarm goes off sooooooo early!

The only good thing about being on the couch all day for several days is that I got caught up some with my Season Pass stuff on TiVo.  Caught up on loads of episodes of Modern Family.  I LOVE this show!  I was late to the party with it, and am so happy I started watching it because it is one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen.  Every one of the characters is a hoot -- tha acting is brilliant!  I was laughing so hard I almost bust a gut watching the episode with the pigeon in the house.  Hadn't seen the season finale of Brothers and Sisters yet -- knew Rob Lowe was leaving, but wasn't sure how they were getting rid of his character -- what an ending!  And finally saw the finale of Glee -- WEE!  Loved the Journey medley, but Bohemian Rhapsody was simply amazing.  I think it's great these bands are allowing their music to be used for this show because it's bringing attention to their timeless music for a whole new generation of people!  I read somewhere that they had wanted to use Bryan Adams' music and he wouldn't let them.  I was surprised -- he is really a smart, smart guy, but not so much with that decision, I think.  And Sue Sylvester makes up for losing Wilhelmina Slater this year!
