Drink Pink!/Boomer Benefit

By Kaedy Kiely

What a treat yesterday morning!  The folks from Planet Smoothie in Buckhead came by the station with samples of their new "Pink Promise" Smoothie -- a blend of pomegranate juice, ruby red grapefruit juice, strawberries, and a new, healthy yogurt -- it was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!  What's extra special is that a portion of the sales of this new Smoothie is going to Komen For The Cure.  Planet Smoothie Buckhead (2900 Peachtree Rd, 30305) is saluting breast cancer survivors at a special celebration event Monday at 11 a.m., so stop by if you can for the launch of the new "Pink Promise".  It's well worth supporting the tasty, healthy drink for The Cause!

Some of my Atlanta DJ buddies are hosting an event this Saturday night for an old friend from 96 Rock, Steve "Boomer" Sutton, who is in need of a kidney transplant.  It's "An Evening With Mark Twain," featuring national touring actor Kurt H. Sutton at the Woodstock Community Church Auditorium (I hear it's Cherokee County's one-of-a-kind, beautiful venue that holds 500 people,) 8534 Main Street. The doors open at 7 with jazzy period music and a meet and greet with Boomer and the DJs. To find out more, click here.  Tickets are only $15 for Adults and $10 for Students/Seniors.  I think it'd be a terrific event to bring your dad to to celebrate Father's Day Weekend.  You'd be helping out a good radio friend at the same time!
