I got a kick out of seeing the new animated movie "Despicable Me" last night.  Wasn't sure I'd like it because those little yellow critters with the goggles that have been everywhere for the past several months were really starting to annoy me, but I loved it!  The animation is stunning -- there's a rollercoaster sequence where you really feel like you're on the ride -- pretty cool when animation can do that (and I didn't see this one in 3D!)  The story is funny and sweet, and I even got teary at the end (might have been my hormones -- my movie buddy didn't cry.)  It's another one of those too-rare movies where adults will enjoy it as much as the kids because the humor is not always so obvious. 

You can see this movie in 3D at a terrific new place I visited last week, Studio Movie Grill on Holcomb Bridge Rd. in Alpharetta.  It's a brand-spanking-new 40,000 square foot theater with 9 screens, first run movies with digital projection and, of course, Dolby Surround-Sound -- that's the "movie" part.  The "grill" part is the delicious food from the kitchen, and yummy drinks from the bar!  My friends and I noshed on the Thai Chicken Salad, nachos, cheeseburger, hand-tossed Margarita Pizza, and popcorn -- all very good.  They even serve Barbeque Ribs, and fresh Fruit and Artisan Cheeses -- quite a menu!  We enjoyed giant margaritas, wine and beer (between 4 of us!)  The bar has a nice selection of cocktails.  The seating is super comfy with captain's chairs that rock and roll, and the service was quite friendly.  Anyone would be happy to have a theater like this in their neighborhood.  You must check out the Studio Movie Grill if you're anywhere near Holcomb Bridge Rd. off 400!
