You may know that over the past year I've been spending time at The Cancer Wellness Center at Piedmont, taking advantage of some wonderful classes and meeting lots of lovely, new friends. I've gotten to know a first-class chef who does cooking demonstrations at Cancer Wellness, Hans Rueffert, who lost his sister to breast cancer and who has been battling cancer himself for over 5 years. I remember Hans from the first season of one of my favorite shows, "The Next Food Network Star," where he made it to nearly the very end, and was voted "Fan Favorite" by the viewers of the show.
Hans has a young family, and he and his parents have run The Woodbridge Inn in Jasper, GA since the '70s. He recently lost his dad Joe rather suddenly, so you can imagine his family has been through hell and back several times. Unfortunately, they're on another trip there as Hans is currently in Houston recovering from some very serious surgeries.
I hope you'll consider taking a trip to the Inn if you have some time to travel close to home to our gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains.
