I recently met Greg who, with his wife Monica, has started a website where most of the proceeds from the sales of their quality merchandise goes to breast cancer research.  They began this venture because members of their family have struggled with the disease, and they are taking a unique, grass roots approach to getting the word out.  Obviously, research is the key to finding a cure, so anything you can do to help and get a cute, embroidered t-shirt or hat for yourself or as a gift would be super!  One of my favorites is a pair of pink boxing gloves that comes with a Sharpie for the recipient's supporters to write their words of encouragement on.  The website is www.boobsgonebad.com. Another note about Greg and Monica -- they are raising a puppy named Joey to be a canine companion for a child or adult with disabilities to help increase his or her independence.  Joey was so beautifully behaved in our lobby here at work -- a sweet, funny pup.  It, too, is a terrific cause.  Call 800-572-BARK, or go to cci.org.

Another site is thepinkribbonlink.com started by Missy Ben-Yehoshua.  I wrote about her store many months ago.  Everything she offers is now on the web and there are tons of unique items to choose from to brighten someone's day.  Missy sent me one of her handmade "Dammit Dolls" a while back.  The stuffed fabric doll has a note around its neck that reads,"When you think you want to climb the wall, or stand right up and shout, here's a little Dammit Doll, you cannot live without.  Just grasp it firmly by the legs, and find a place to slam it, then as you whack its stuffing out, yell 'dammit, dammit, dammit!'"   I can tell you I wish I had had the doll during my treatments!
