That Chap-Wearing, Flowing-Haired Joe Perry

Previous Posts

By Kaedy Kiely

Ok, no he wasn't wearing his leather chaps but, wow!  I had a great time yesterday afternoon with Aerosmith's hot guitarist, Joe Perry, visiting the station and doing close to an hour-long interview with me.  I'll post it on the website soon so you can hear what he has to say about his respect for their fans and how devastated he was that they had to cancel tour dates recently.  We talked about everything from his hot sauce, to his kids' band, to his quest to meet Bob Dylan.  I've met Joe backstage a couple of times before, but that's a bit different from seeing him in my environment with co-workers of mine that are huge fans.  He was just as lovely as he could be with everyone. He posed for pictures, signed autographs, and answered questions for anyone who wanted a moment with him.  Joe was in Atlanta yesterday for just a few hours to promote a new solo CD he has coming out October 6th.  He played a couple of songs for me and I loved what I heard -- I think you will too!  Find out more at joeperry.com.  He was off on his you-can't-miss-it tour bus to Miami last night.

I've got a few vacation days to take before I lose them, so I'm taking all next week and the following Monday off.  My old buddy AJ will be filling in for me.  I thought I'd head off for a little vacation, then remembered my radiation treatments!  It's pretty amazing to me that I could forget something like that -- goes to show you that it's going well!  So I''ll be in town and updating you if anything new happens.  I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend!
