Friday, my friends Sara and Anita came by my house from the hospital to bring a big bag of crabapples for my horse.  Anita had just finished her 2nd round of chemo and she looked great!  I'm especially inspired by women who are moms going through this ordeal -- balancing homelife, work, and treatments -- WOW!  Superwomen!!  My friend Susan starts her radiation this week.  She had a recurrance a couple of months ago and now needs 6 and 1/2 weeks of radiation. 

I had my follow-up with Dr. Jonas, my oncologist, Friday.  It was cool to get a big hug from him, congratulating me for finishing chemo and radiation.  The next step is the drug, Femara, I will take for 5 years.  The drug blocks estrogen, so the most obvious side effect to expect is hot flashes.  I've had plenty of those already -- Whooppeeee -- so I know I can handle them but, of course, I HATE THEM!  Good new is the drug works and will help keep me cancer-free.

On a side note, how 'bout the Falcons?!  What a great game yesterday.  I'm psyched they are connecting so well.  I love that the Georgia Lottery is unveiling the Atlanta Falcons $500,000 Touchdown Instant Ticket.  I'll be out at Publix on Market Blvd in Roswell a week from Friday (Oct. 23) with Falcons Harry Douglas and Kroy Biermann to promote it, so mark your calendar and join us in the late afternoon if you're out that way!
