Wiped!

Wow, I'm really surprised how tired I've been since my last radiation a week ago!  Someone explained that it's still working on my body.  Another person suggested it might be like the holidays -- you gear yourself up knowing you're going to be slammed, you're Iron Woman going through the ordeal, then when it's over you collapse.  I feel good, though.  No more pain from the burn -- just the after effects of peeling and some yucky oozing.  Boy, when you go through something like being burned on a small portion of your body, it gives you an iota of an idea of what people who suffer major burns must go through!

I had a gift certificate that was expiring in a few days and I used it to get The Beatles' Rock Band.  OMG, a friend and I played it all weekend!  Nothing like playing a video game to some great tunes!  I've also got the drum kit I've always wanted now, even if it is smaller than I envisioned!

Hey, if you're into motorcycle rides, here's one coming up this Saturday for a great cause --  thanks to one of our listeners, Melissa, for letting me know about it:

The Hall County Sheriff's Office 9th Annual Motorcycle ride to benefit the Georgia Sheriff's Association Youth Homes will be on Saturday, October 10, 2009.  Registration will begin at 9am at Frazier's Harley Davidson located at
4699 Friendship Road, Buford, Georgia
.  The cost is $25 per motorcycle and you will receive a t-shirt, vest pin and there will be drawings for prizes at the end of the ride.  There will also be a 50/50 drawing.

The ride leaves Frazier's at 10:30am and will be an escorted ride with units from the Sheriff's Office Motor Unit.  The route is about 1 ½ hours long.  The proceeds go to the Georgia Sheriff's Association Youth Homes.  These are residential facilities run by the Sheriff's Association for children who, through no fault of their own, have no where else to live.  It's a wonderful program and the kids are great.  Most go on to college and we've even had a few go on to medical school.
