The Noni "Superfruit"

Previous Posts

I hope you had a great holiday weekend.  Mine was terrific!  I had dinner with Mom and good friends at the wonderful Thanksgiving buffet at Ray's On the River, traveled to Rockmart Friday and Saturday to be with my horse and enjoy a fun evening of dinner, darts, and drinking with more friends, played the Saturday night poker game (I was a winner -- yeah!), and spent Sunday (my birthday) recovering from celebrating my birthday all month long with a lobster dinner and a Falcons WIN!  Woo Hoo, what a game, huh?  It shouldn't have been that close, but it was worth the drama at the end.

By the way, I had an interesting conversation with a friend at Thanksgiving dinner about Noni juice.  Peter's wife has had cancer twice in the last several years.  She was initially diagnosed with anal cancer (the same type that Farrah lost her battle with) which later metastacized to her lungs.  When she was diagnosed with a dire prognosis the second time, Peter told me her dad sent her a case of Noni juice and it seemed to make quite a difference in her healing -- her blood count would come back to where it should be after chemo much more quickly than it had during her first bout with the disease.  He said if they had had nothing to compare it to it might be different, but since his wife went through the treatments twice -- once without Noni -- they had a good benchmark for comparison, and it made a difference.  Thankfully, his wife is cancer-free now.  What was funny is that he was suggesting I might benefit from the juice and I told him I've already been drinking it for a couple of years.  I've often thought it might have made a difference during my treatment.  Noni is one of the "superfruits" you may have heard about in recent years -- high in antioxidants and anti-inflammatories.  Since I am not great about my diet, my friend (who's also a General Practitioner) suggested a few years ago that I, at least, start taking good vitamins and try the Noni.  I've been religious with my regimen, and have definitely felt good changes over time.  There are many brands out there -- they vary in expense, and some are much better than others in their purity.  But if you're open to trying new things, I thought you might want to know Noni's been beneficial for several people (and a severely arthritic DOG) I know!
