HE WAS BORN GORDON SUMNER IN 1951.
BEFORE THEY HIT BIG THEY WERE PLAYING FOR GUM
IN EARLY 1978, THE BAND DYED THEIR HAIR BLONDE FOR A WRIGLEY'S CHEWING GUM COMMERCIAL.
WHILE TOGETHER THEY WERE ONTHE RIGHT SIDE OF THE LAW
BUT CONSTANT IN-FIGHTING WAS THIS BAND'S BIG FLAW
FAME, FORTUNE, AND EGOS CONTRIBUTED TO THE BAND'S BREAK-UP IN THE MID '80s. THEY REUNITED FOR THEIR 30TH ANNIVERSARY IN 2007 AND TOURED TILL AUGUST OF 2008, BECOMING THE WORLD'S HIGHEST EARNING MUSICIANS OF '08.
