My new friend Chef Hans Rueffert is hosting another "Eating Healthy" cooking class Thursday from noon - 2p at The Cancer Wellness Center, so a friend and I are going to enjoy his demonstration and (the best part) eat what he cooks!!  I've also got to get some more Christmas gifts for friends of Hans' own brand of blended spices he's created. You are welcome to join in -- it's free for any patients or loved ones.  You just need to be sure to register by calling 404-425-7944, as seating is limited.  The new Piedmont West Cancer Wellness Center is at I75 and Howell Mill Rd.

My fellow River "Chatty-Hoochie" Kate McCarthy and I checked out an advance screening of the new movie "It's Complicated" last night.  The I'm-not-sure-how-it's-already-been-nominated-for-a-Golden-Globe-when-it-hasn't-even-been-released-yet flick stars Meryl Streep, Steve Martin, and Alec Baldwin, and it's a hoot!  It's written and directed by the same woman who gave us "Something's Gotta Give," with Diane Keaton and Jaaaaaack Nicholson in 2003, and it sometimes feels like you're watching the same movie.  That's okay with me when you're watching such likable actors in a good comedy.  It's a fun one you might want to see over the holidays.
