I had dinner last night with a bunch of girlfriends who have been friends since my early radio days.  We've pretty much adopted Varasano's Pizzaria as our home base lately -- we love their salads and fresh pies, plus we've just discovered 1/2-price-bottle-of-wine-night on Tuesday's there.  I had a belated birthday celebration with them (okay, now into my 2nd month of celebrating) and hadn't seen them since I've doffed Bridgette.  They really liked my short hair.  I can tell it's pretty shocking at first for people I know -- but they all seem to get a genuine kick out of it.  I'm getting much more used to it and love that I don't have to do anything to it after showering except try to push down the hair that stands straight up on top of my head.  It's wavy in the front, sides and back, and sticks up on the top back.  Now, for someone who's spent plenty of money to try to get any kind of body into her hair, this is pretty cool.  I'ts also been well over a month since I had the platinum dye job, and it still looks good because you can't really see the dark roots when your hair is fluffy -- more coolness and saving more bucks!  I'm wondering how long this lasts.  I'd heard from several folks when I had chemo that if your hair is straight it will grow back curly, but eventually goes back to what it was.  If you have experience with this, I'd love to hear about it.  In the meantime, I'm appreciating the funkiness of my new hair...
