John Lennon lyrics sell for $833,000 By Lexie Kaye
John Lennon's handwritten lyrics to "Give Peace a Chance" have sold at auction for over $800,000 , the Associated Press reports.
Christie's auction house said the winning bidder paid $833,654 for the lyrics, written during Lennon and wife Yoko Ono's famous 1969 "Bed-In" for peace at the Queens Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal . Lennon also recorded the song in the hotel room with about 50 guests, including British pop star Petula Clark and famed beat poet Allen Ginsberg.
