So, age is just a number??

Father Time

By Dave Clapper

So I remember very clearly, coming home from school on my 16th Birthday and my sweet girlfriend had decorated the house for me and my birthday.  It was very sweet - the only problem was that I had told everyone that I was 17 - not 16 and apparently, she didn't get the memo.   Funny how that when we are young, all we want to do is be older and then once Father Time catches up to us, we just want to be younger.

Now that we're older, we shave a couple years off here and there, hoping that no one notices right?   They say that 30 is the new 20 or 40 is the new 30 but the truth is - you're a old as you are - not as old as you look, or as old as you feel, or even as old as people think you look.  You're as old as you are - PERIOD.  Maybe just a number but a number none the less.   Sure - embrace the age - I've heard that before but sometimes reality is a bitch.

For my next birthday - I'm going to find that ex-girlfriend and have her decorate my house again.  This time, I'll be happy that she was celebrating my 16th!
