It's never too late!!!

By Dave Clapper

So I'm sitting here in The River studio with a special guest.  Now, this guest isn't a huge rock star, he isn't a huge movie star, he's just a regular guy, but he does have a dream.  My guest is the guitarist of the local band Soylent Red.  Have you heard of them??  I didn't think so - well, they won round 1 of our Hard Rock Rising Battle of the Bands contest.  I mentioned them and the contest in my last blog so I won't go into all THOSE details.   What I will cover is that fact that it's NEVER too late to chase your dreams - whatever they may be.

I remember being a teenager wanting to learn how to play guitar or play the drums but I will be honest, I didn't have the talent.  Anyway - I write this as I sit hear talking to Brian Austin, the front man of this local band and he tells me that he didn't really pick up the guitar until he was 23...23???  Really!  I think I thought that I knew everything that I needed to know at 23.  Boy - I was wrong.  And my point is that if you think that, then so are you!

What have you always wanted to do??  Is it too late?  Want to play guitar like Brian?  Write a screenplay, build a house by hand?  Whatever it is - I promise you that it's NEVER too late!

Good luck!!!!
