When will I be TOO old?

So it’s no secret that we all are getting older right?  My ex-wife used to ask me “when are you going to grow up?”  And now I am starting to ask myself the same question and wondering if in fact I even WANT to grow up.   Look, I have a job that seems to keep me young – I mean, yes, I play the music of my YOUTH and that was a LOOOONNNGGG time ago but because of that, I think I can’t grow up.

I ask this question because I have 3 parties that I’ve been invited to this weekend.  Grant it – as a single dad, I play the part as a responsible father and respectable person in the community – MOST OF THE TIME, however – I’m kind of afraid of going to a party Friday, Saturday AND Sunday.  1) I’m not sure I am even capable of pulling it off 2) should I even consider trying to??

So here’s the dilemma – When am I going to grow up?  When am I too old?

My father passed away at a young 59 and lived every day like it was his last.  He set the bar and showed me that you’re never too old but then again – he was only 59 when he passed.  Would you rather spend 59 years having a blast or 85 following the rules???

Food for thought!
