So February 7th is the date for the new Van Halen record.  The first new record with David Lee Roth since the "1984" album.  The press, their label and the band are promoting that this is a reunion of sorts.  Are you buying it?  Listen, I'm a HUGE Van Halen fan.  One of my first "ALBUMS" was "Women and Children First" and I supported the band after DLR's departure and into the Van Hagar days but call me a skeptic here.  I'm sorry but without Michael Anthony, I don't think that this IS Van Halen.  I can love Van Halen without DLR or without Sammy but I'm not sure I can LOVE Van Halen without Michael Anthony.

C'mon - The Jack Daniels Bass Guitar, the amazing background vocals, the "ordinary dude" look that he mastered over the years.  No one thinks that the BASS PLAYER makes the band but I truly think that with this band - the rhythm section and the vocals were such a huge part of their success.

I may buy the new record and may go see the show come April 19th but I will more certainly feel like something is missing.  Tomorrow we will hear the new song and I wish the VH brothers all the best luck in their "comeback" but I can already tell you that I miss Michael Anthony and it won't be the same!
