This is the question of the day - What actually happened to customer service??  I see and hear of people complaining on a daily basis about the cable guy, our cell service, the server at their favorite restaurant and the question remains...What happened to customer service?

I remember learning in college that for any company's success, customer service needs to be the most important aspect of the company's image.  It seems that throughout the "recession," that the first thing to be cut in a company's budget is the "people" that make the most important influence on customers and their buying or spending habits - those in customer service.

I had a date over the weekend and spent a small ransom on a very nice dinner at a very nice place - what was the first thing our service said to us??  "I'm so busy, I had to pick up someone's shift and I'm so tired!"  WHAT!?!?!  How and why is this MY problem?  And why dump that on me??   It certainly was not the way I wanted to begin the experience.

My advice....Let's go back to the basics...Hire people with GOOD attitudes...People that WANT to be there.  People that care about the product or the people they service.  If we could get BACK TO THE BASICS, I have a feeling that the world would be a better place.  But that's just me!
