So I've been going back and forth with a River listener named Steve and we've been talking about some of the best concerts we've ever been to.  The cool thing about Steve is...Steve saved his concert tickets.  Man, I wish I would have done the same.  Truth is, I've been to well over 200 concerts in my life time.  I remember about 25 of them.  Why?  Well, they say that the memory is first to go and well, to be honest - most of the concerts of my youth were clouded with smoke and alcohol. 

Now I'm not encouraging the youth of America to cloud their great memories with the mind altering substances that I did when I was young...It just is what it is.  I mean, if you attended concerts back when the music of The River was mainstream, then you attended concerts in the 70's and the 80's and attending these concerts was a rite of passage.  A gift that we all can cherish from the rock Gods as well as the fact that we were lucky enough to grow up when we did. 

Steve sent me a tickets stub of a Black Sabbath concert he attended in 1978 - two things make me very jealous about this.  1) he saw Sabbath in the 70's (How awesome is that?) 2) I don't have the ticket stubs from the concerts I went to LAST YEAR but man, do I wish I did.  I remember the look of my Iron Maiden ticket back in 1984 but I barely remember the concert. I sure wish I would have not only held on to the ticket stub but also the memory of the concert.  Oh well - at least I know that I was there.
