As the father of a 6 year old - I am trying VERY hard to teach the importance of The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Van Halen - but I can only do so much, right??  Here's where my head is at.

I took that boy of mine to the beach over Spring Break and we ran into A LOT of teenages/tweens and I have to say, I'm becoming a bit disappointed in the youth of today.  At least their musical tastes!  EVERY SINGLE kid had an IPod, and IPhone or some kind of muscial device - which I'm ALL for....Bad thing is - I could hear the crap they were listening to (I must be getting old - seemed too loud to me)!   What happened to Rock and Roll?  I mean REALLY???

We as parents have a responsibility to teach our children the importance of music, it's history, the passion and the excitement of Rock and Roll.  Have we become so pre-occupied that we continue to allow the mass media/pop culture of today decide what's good music to our kids?  If so - we are all to blame. 

This here is a call - a rallying cry to every parent, parent to be or child that has friends with horrible taste!  GET WITH THE PROGRAM!!!  Share the love of the music that YOU LOVE!  Share the love you have for Rock and Roll - don't let it die!   FOR THE LOVE OF JIMI HENDRIX, JIM MORRISON, JANIS JOPLIN, STEVIE RAY, RONNIE VAN ZANDT, RONNIE JAMES DIO, KEITH RICHARDS (oh wait a minute) and all the rockers that have left us!!!
