Animals are something that I hold dear to my heart, and making sure every animal has a home is a huge priority for me.  Every week, I will feature a different dog and cat that are looking for a home from the Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption. APRA is a non-profit, volunteer-based, no-kill shelter dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs and cats so they can be adopted into safe and loving forever homes. Please check out these cuties!

Fantastic Family Fun at The Fabulous Fox!

I saw Mary Poppins at The Fabulous Fox last time it was in town, and was simultaneously swept and blown away, just like Burt and Mary (wink, wink!) Mary Poppins was the first movie I ever saw and remembered as a small child, so it holds a special place in ...

Why Am I Paying For My Checked Bags??

I traveled to Vega$ last week, and was reminded of something that, increasingly, doesn’t make sense to me.  Granted, I don’t travel as often as I used to, so I’m counting on hearing from people who travel more often to explain why it makes sense for them to bring their ...

I Still Have a Grudge Against Ray Lewis...

I pretty much have zero interest in the Superbowl this year.  I don’t care about either of the teams.  But I surely won’t be rooting for The Ravens because I cannot stand watching Ray Lewis sob and throw himself on the ground in his exaggerated dramatics over this being his ...

Remembering Skynyrd's Allen Collins

Lynyrd Skynyrd has surely been struck with more than their share of tragedy over the years – it’s simply stunning how many of their members have passed since this relatively young rock band’s inception. I’d like to take a moment to remember Allen Collins. Guitarist Larkin Allen Collins Jr. was ...

Are You Going to Watch Lance and Oprah?

National news was abuzz last night that Oprah had finished her much-publicized- already interview with Lance Armstrong that will air on her OWN network Thursday night. Are you planning to watch? Curiosity will probably have me tuning in, but I couldn’t care less about Lance anymore. I have a real ...

Let's Go Falcons!

I’ve been a Falcons fan since my family moved to Atlanta in 1970. My dad used to get us tickets to games in Fulton County Stadium, where we’d brave the chill and rain the way football Is meant to be watched – outdoors --  especially in the South!  My father ...
