Located on Flat Shoals Avenue in East Atlanta, The EARL has won numerous awards for its live music schedule of big name indie and alternative musicians. Its laid back atmosphere and design may throw audiences initially, but the scrappy interior doesn't reflect the amazing music, food, and service that audiences will experience. Those who have frequented The EARL know that the simple facilities are a part of the club's charm that, over the years, has attracted some of the biggest bands in the country.

Just before The EARL opened in 1999, people weren't sure that a restaurant and lounge could survive in this previously rough neighborhood, especially with a limited budget and renovations done mostly by hand. However, as soon as it opened, people enjoyed the casual, minimal atmosphere of the club and its schedule local live music. Soon, bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Tapes n' Tapes, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, and The Postal Service began stopping by while on tour, and soon The EARL became one of the most popular venues in the country. Not only has the club been voted one of the best rock venues by Playboy and Paste Magazine, but its menu of inventive and delicious American cuisine has also won numerous awards.

People looking for fancy decorations, expensive seats, hot DJs, and small plates of gourmet food are better off at a ritzy club. Those interested in a great schedule of live music, a friendly staff, delicious fatty food (try the tots!), and down to earth audiences will find a home at The EARL.
