"We've got eight miles of hiking trail that is currently open and this is going to make it even safer and more accessible," said Rob Brawner, a BeltLine volunteer.

Home Depot Donates Thousands to the Atlanta BeltLine

The Atlanta BeltLine project is a 22-mile loop around the city that will connect more than 45 neighborhoods. All along the transit like will be new parks and trails, such as the trail that will connect Ansley Mall and Ansley Square to Piedmont Park.

"We're actually going to have a bridge that people can ride their mountain bikes over and safely run and walk over the bridge," said Brawner.

About 50 volunteers from Home Depot's store support center joined in the project.

"We've made quite a financial contribution to kind of support the BeltLine, and now we're happy to follow it up," said Tyrene Hodges with Home Depot .

The Home Depot Foundation donated $10,000 in labor and supplies. It's just part of the $2 million Home Depot has donated, so far, to the Atlanta BeltLine Project.

"It's a part of our key values to keep giving back to the community. We demonstrate that every day. This is just our way, one of the many ways we work to support Atlanta, our hometown," said Hodges.
