Led Zeppelin have their first UK #1 album with Led Zeppelin II (1970).

John Lennon and Yoko Ono are featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Lennon was named as Rolling Stone’s Man of the Year (1969).

Pink Floyd perform seven sold out nights at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena (1980).

U2 perform a secret show at London’s Astoria. Some of the attendees include actor John Hurt, Roger Taylor of Queen, Mick Jagger, Bob Geldof, Chris Evans and members of Toploader (2001).

Blondie hit #1 on the UK singles chart with “Maria”, making lead singer Debbie Harry, who was 54 at the time, the oldest female to make #1 (1999).

The Who record their single “Pinball Wizard” at Morgan Studios in London. This song is one of the group’s most famous song, being played at almost every Who concert since its debut live performance  (1969).
