The Rolling Stones begin an 11 date Australia and New Zealand tour performing at the Commemorative Auditorium in Sydney (1966).

Freddie Mercury makes his final public appearance on stage, joining the rest of Queen to collect the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music (1990).

During an interview, Rolling Stone Bill Wyman states he intends on leaving the band in two years on the group’s 20th anniversary, but Wyman doesn’t quit the band until 1993 (1980).
