Jerry Lee Lewis marries his 13-year-old cousin Myra Gale Brown, who is the daughter of his bass player/cousin J.W. Brown (1957).

The Rolling Stones record their TV special “Rolling Stones’ Rock and Roll Circus,” which features performances by John Lennon, Eric Clapton, The Who and Jethro Tull, along with other acts. Unfortunately it never airs, but is released to video in 1995 (1968).

A Roy Orbison tribute concert is held at the Los Angeles Wiltern Theatre and Don Henley, Tom Petty, Graham Nash and Bonnie Raitt all perform (1988).

Ace Frehley of KISS sis almost electrocuted after touching a short-circuited light during a concert in Florida. After being carried off the stage, Frehley returns ten minutes later and finishes the show (1976).

Elton John’s band Bluesology opens for Little Richard at a concert in London. Elton is quoted later stating that after seeing the Little Richard on stage “standing on top of the piano, all lights, sequins and energy, [he] decided there and then that [he] was going to be a rock and roll piano player” (1966).
