Indianapolis police were called around 12:30 a.m. Sunday after a 39-year-old woman and her 60-year-old mother argued outside McDonald’s near 21st Street and Shadeland Avenue, The Indianapolis Star reported.

They found the unidentified victim “covered in ketchup, mustard and pickles,” according to WXIN. Her injuries appeared to be minor.

Police told the Star that the fight started before the pair got to McDonald’s when the woman’s mother said her daughter could no longer stay in her home.

Officer Aaron Hamer told the newspaper that the woman was shouting at her mother and the older woman stopped at the McDonald’s drive-thru to allow other people to get out of the car.

“While her daughter was seated in the front passenger seat, she took a bite out of her cheeseburger,” Hamer told the Star. “The victim stated her daughter yelled, ‘(Expletive), I ought to kill you,’ and hit her in the left side of her face with her hand and the cheeseburger.”

The daughter, who was not identified, jumped into another vehicle and left the restaurant, police said.

Authorities continue to investigate the case.
