Mickey D’s hasn’t been happy with the time spent in their drive through line (189 seconds) going up.
McDonald’s now sits well behind industry leader Wendy’s and their 134 second wait and Taco Bell’s 158 second service.
With nearly 70% of the chains profits coming at the drive-thru, that situation has to change.
The company says they will try to fix the issue with a third window in their drive thru line.
Bloomberg explains the first window will still be to pay and the second window remains for pick-up.
The "Fast Forward Drive-Thru," window will be for people whose orders are slowing down the line. Those customers will be asked to pull to that window so they aren’t holding up the line.
That means your Filet-O-Fish may be faster but it might also get more expensive.
Reuters reports the cost to fit each of the chains 2,600 restaurants will be $3 billion.
